“I grew up in Ottawa, Canada and my father was a policeman. One of the stories I heard as a young child was that dad walked Paul Anka across the street (I believe after school, ensuring kids crossed the street safely). Since my dad was a good singer in his own right and played Mr. Anka’s music in our house I came to love his music.
We’ll, my dad died at the young age of 45 when I was 12. Since I moved to California, had a career in education as a teacher, Principal, and Counselor. I just lost my mother to dementia. For about two years prior to her passing I would go for daily walks with her and play ‘Mom’s Memory’ favorite songs playlist. It included three by Paul Anka: Having My Baby, Times of Your Life, and Memories Are Made of This.
This history brought me to Our Way podcast. Though I am only 61, I feel connected and incredibly interested in the stories and guests. It is a time period rich in history. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be the fly on the wall. As a side note, I especially appreciate Steve Wynn who shares the same RP eye condition that I have.
Bless your time and your relationships. My dad would have loved Our Way.”
