Gripping
I’m a sucker for hair-raising outdoor adventure stories, especially survival tales, and the first episode here has me riveted. As I would expect from Backpacker, which really knows it’s way around the things that can go wrong in the wilds. The editing, sound effects, pacing, and production are surprisingly good for a brand-new podcast, and the way Louisa built suspense kept me locked in right til the end. I also learned a lot of valuable info about avalanches and safety technique - another hallmark of Backpacker’s journalistic approach.
