“Carrie the Musical
Even though I was born in the 21st century, I can still say that Carrie the Musical is my one favourite musical in the whole wide world! The critics said in 1988, that Carrie was blasphemous and horrible, well guess what? You critics are the reason why you ruin everyone’s dreams in terms of our favourite actors and directors! The audience and I believed it is the most fantastic masterpiece we’d ever seen because of the standing ovations, and I gave a million ovations after watching the entire thing so many times at home on YouTube! Linzi Hateley, Betty Buckley, Sally Ann Triplett, Charlotte D’Amboise, the late Gene Anthony Ray, Darlene Love and the late Paul Gyngell deserve recognition and some Tony Awards for the four leading ladies I mentioned. Closing the show was absolutely unforgivable in my opinion, because when I first heard this I was in absolute shock to the point where I would grieve for its loss! Btw, I demand Ken Mandelbaum to leak the second tape or else our Carrie community shall make a rebellion where we shall retrieve and show the world how Act 2 became a sensation! As for 2012, I mean it was good but it can never beat the 1988 one. But they butchered the “In” song and “The Destruction” and “Finale Reprise / Once You See” which I find super annoying! But credits to Molly Ranson, the late Molly Ranson, Christy Altomare and Jeanne De Waal, Derek Klena, Ben Thompson, Carmen Cusack and Wayne Alan Wilcox for portraying the characters superbly. The 2013 production was ok, but Keaton put the production to another level with “The Destruction”. 2015 Los Angeles was nice, Emily Lopez did a fantastic job, although in terms of “The Destruction”, she was a little bit too subtle and deserved to be much louder and please don’t put the “God has seen your sinning later” line later in “The Destruction”, it should be straight after the line “Doesn’t anybody think that I hear”. Thank God in the Off - West End 2015 production, Evelyn Hoskins managed to bring back the tune of 1988’s “The Destruction” back. Kim Criswell was excellent as Margaret! Others in the production deserve credit for their amazing roles as well! This is a legacy we will follow in our hearts as Carrie the musical of a lifetime! That is my review for Carrie the Musical! I love this podcast so much detailing this entire Carrie Saga, I love it, I will follow every podcast I swear! Thank you for taking notice and releasing this podcast for the world to know about this most fantastic musical ever! I hope this podcast wins Podcast of the Year, or even better the Best Podcast Ever! Thank You So Much Broadway Podcast Network!!! 🥳 🎉 👏🏼”
