“Outlander Cast is extremely enjoyable. Particularly as a guy who stumbled on Outlander many years ago, not realizing it was a “romance” novel (and quickly discovering that it was far beyond that description, given the historical detail, strong characterizations, et. all). I appreciate Blake’s non-fawning assessments yet growing appreciation of the series. Mary is a incredible charming and her upbeat; her bubbly enthusiasm for her subject is infectious. I like that this (and another podcast) is hosted by a married couple — it gives the rapport and the content of the discussion added richness. They often tie what they are seeing to their own life as a couple, which is an interesting perspective.
Plus, the humor in their ‘cast is fun: for example the silly jargon like “Sassenach Wasted” that they’re coining on the show. It’s a great counter-tone to a fantastic show that is (let’s face it) very self-serious.”
