Wow!
Outside Magazine became my gateway to the American outdoors (and the English language) when I immigrated 24 years ago. An avid audiobook listener, I thought I’d give their podcast a try. Turns out I devoured all the “Science of survival” episodes in one single road trip. High quality stuff! Peter Frick-Wright is an accomplished writer/narrator with a pleasant voice and the right amount of wit to make sponsor credits bearable. Combined with tasteful music and clever sound effects, his stories deliver a truly immersive and inspiring experience.

interesting episodes so far, ive been really enjoying this podcast so far. The host is easy to listen to and the sound effects add to the experience without being obtrusive.

I have no idea if the rest of the podcasts can keep up this quality, but the first episode was as good as anything i’ve heard. Great production in being able to take a very “sciency” topic and make it dramatic.

This started as an interesting and compelling podcast that told stories about outdoor adventures and delivered great info. Now it is just another interview-oriented podcast. It's fine as it is, but not nearly as good as it was.Read full review »
