“I have struggled to really get into some episodes of Outspoken. I think the whole Tagline of “not afraid to say what you’re thinking” isn’t well suited - as I have found, in my opinion, the hosts’ opinions to be a bit narrow-minded and similar to each other; completely understanding that everyone is able to have their own opinion (:)!) but I instead rather enjoy being offered different perspectives or ones own/my own opinions being challenged (either by thyself, or the other hosts) in order to receive two (or numerous) sides of a story/issue/influencer debacle, etc.
I found a few remarks in the most recent episode, ‘Shameless influence...’, interesting through a few parts - including inferring other podcast hosts may somewhat expect/deserve a high degree of trolling/negative commentary due to them “getting that much money” (I cant understand the vague calculation of income = trolling), and commentary surrounding Chloe Szep’s Youtube upload with the opinion of it being “tone deaf” with the idea that she had sold out of her activewear and also purchased a new car, rather than the contradicting thoughts behind this being more about joy, boosting the economy, celebrating one’s success during these trying times, etc. I also wonder why the conversation around Bachelor in Paradise producers wasn’t discussed for a further minute or so - with the thoughts surrounding potential faux couple ‘set ups’, getting people talking about the upcoming show, etc. wasn’t dived into. Overall, I guess I found myself just constantly questioning the thoughts/opinions of what I’ve heard in the few episodes I’ve listened to of this podcast and really struggled to fully appreciate what was being discussed - as I would have preferred more thoughts and challenged opinions on the topics.”
