Used to be peak sports chatter
I’ve been listening to these guys for more than 10 years, and they have been with me through some pretty intense moments of my life. The show used to be about 3 guys that needed each other’s personalities to balance the different perspectives. Bryan provides the hot takes, but is also the only actually journalist. O’Dog gets heated, but is really a man of the people and “says it like it is”. And Noodles is a businessman with his hands in all sorts of ventures, but also played and tries to stay neutral, but isn’t actually neutral. It works because of the balance, and the rapport they have with each other. It’s not a plug and play kind of show where it doesn’t matter whose there. It works because of the chemistry between the three of them. When Noodles is gone, it’s like the teacher is gone and they just talk nonsense (but in a good way). When O’Dog is gone, Bryan is a lot more reserves, but they get by. When Hayes is gone, it sucks, honestly. Now, the show has become bigger than the actual people who made the show what it is. There’s a constant carousel of people - most of which are really awful for the vibe of what this show was all about. Frankie Corrado is insufferable and is just getting this inexplicable free ride because they want him to become a thing. Al’s brother was a pretty mid, and he only works when O’Dog is there to keep him humble. Dave Feschuk is fine, but he and Hayes are too similar and it doesn’t work when both of them just create this echo chamber of ideas. The show is still “fine”, but whenever I listen now, it’s never even close to as good as it once was. It happens. I listen way less than I used to.

I first heard these guys on Leafs Lunch in 2013 and have been hooked ever since. Nobody gives a better appraisal on the world of sports than Hayes, the O-Dog, and Noodles. These guys may not always take themselves seriously, but they know their sports.
