Michael in Alan Jones’s slot? He is intelligent, interesting, interested, learned and very funny to boot. Ben is such a light-weight, I feel like I’m listening to radio aimed at twenty year olds (unexpected??? marriage proposals live on air, for example) - seriously?? I want to be informed - not listen to that load of fluff! I now listen to episodes of Michael McLaren instead of Ben (and others I will not name - well, Deborah Knight - another light-weight who just goes over everything that has already been discussed for the six and a half hours before she comes on and then proceeds to go over it all again ad nauseam - she then sets a topic to encourage callers to fill in the hours for her like ‘what was the best concert you ever attended?’ ‘What is the most unusual sandwich filling you’ve encountered?’ ‘What’s your favourite band of all time?’ Who frigging cares?!! Just lazy, boring and pathetic)”
