“So, I really want to love this podcast, and maybe I did for an episode or two. The premise is great, two guys, a foppish irreverent type teamed with a pickup artist type traverse the country in their rv and share the journey. Here’s the issue, there’s no sounds from the journey, such as wind through the trees or owls hooting. They’re reading from a script, or what sounds like sometimes the Wikipedia pages for the different parks, and there’s no chemistry between them. They’re supposed to be married with a dog and an rv, boldly living life on the road, but they sound like they’re just in a studio recording ad content for a beverage company. I believe they’ve been to some national parks before in their lives, but the narrative they’re stringing together seems like it was a challenge to try to create one pieced out is some precious experiences and strung together out of thin air. I’m wondering if it was based on a bet to see if they could convince people that they’d actually done this, while sitting in their loft still in Chicago. I believe Sarah Koenig actually went to that court house, I’d need to hear more to substantiate whether this is actually real.”
