Like first year writing class all over again.
The great thing about podcasts is that they can be independently produced and written by anyone, regardless of experience, budget, or intervention. In this case, the podcast would have benefitted from some intervention in letting the writer know they have no business writing dialogue. “You’re a smart cookie” I don’t blame the actor for not knowing how to deliver a line from a period noir film without sounding like a period noir film. It boggles my mind the amount of gates this must have passed through without someone suggesting a rewrite. I’m a little miffed at Roman Mars for this recommendation.
