“I sent my other review before finishing. I wanted to add that your examples of connecting are hilarious. I thk it’s hard sometimes for an adult to be authentically silly especially with their own child. So much focus on cleaning, homework, fixing meals, balancingthe room.” My sister however was a champ. She had Carol Burnett’s evil eye down on command. It got me laughing every single time.
I was never around kids as a young adult. Never babysat. No interest. I would say, “I’m not a kid person.” After having my own child, I try to be silly and sometimes that’s the best remedy. At times I come w hugs and comfort and silence. Sometimes w a little Carol. Thanks to Michelle for making me realize kids are very similar to adults in their needs. We want to be heard and validated, we need trusting bonds and we need laughter to break us out of “funks.” Thanks for starting the convo and most importantly, THANKS SIS. ❤️”
