“I am a 77 year old northwest native who has relished outdoor adventures in this part of the world for most of my life. I’ve been a subscriber to this podcast, perhaps to have a few more vicarious adventures in this special part of the world. But as with so many of these episodes, the one I just listened to about climbing the South Sister omits simple and relevant details of the experience. Like: What was the location of the trailhead and name of the trail? What was the name of the lovely lake 2 miles in where you took the break? Adding these few words isn’t going to take any more time.
Sure, for me, maybe it doesn’t matter, I’m not gonna do this hike. But I’d still like to know. And for someone who might want to go out and try it, these things are important. Also, your attention to these details shows that you respect the area—and the outdoors.”
