Description
Bored by conventional thinking, Rupert, along with his Co-Founders Phil Nevin and Tayna Donald started x+why to unite a community of mission driven entrepreneurs, leaders and companies within inspiring and sustainable workspaces.
x+why enters into management agreements with landlords to design, manage and operate flexible workspaces to create more profit than they would otherwise, through either operating the space themselves or from a conventional lease.
Rupert is a graduate of Bristol University, having studied History, before training to become a Solicitor and worked at SJ Berwin, Maples and Calder as well as Sunbird Group before setting up x+why.
I sat down with Rupert to discuss a broad range of subjects which covered some of the following topics:
* Career journey before real estate
* How he got into real estate
* Management agreements vs traditional lease
* Having fun at work
* Raising capital
* Challenges of building a business
* Balancing, purpose + profit
* Finding your passion
* Not being afraid to take a step back to go 2 forward
Oh, and one last question - who are the People, what Property, and in which Place would Rupert invest should he have £500m of capital at his disposal.
