On a Saturday night last January 6, 2024, 45-year-old Ryan Ambrosio and 43-year-old Jennifer Ambrosio, a Filipino couple and parents of six children in Michigan, were on their way home from a date night.  As they were cruising through the Lodge Freeway near the Civic Center Drive in Southfield at around 1:30 am, a vehicle going the wrong way crashed into them, tragically leading to the demise of Ryan and Jen. The culprit, 35-year-old Angel Melendez-Ortiz, was evading police at the time. In order to lose them, he decided to drive on the wrong side of the freeway with the headlights of his stolen vehicle turned off. It is when he tragically collided with the vehicle of the Ambrosios, seriously injuring himself and his 29-year-old unnamed female companion.
