Best podcast around - on any topic!
Steve Runner produces an awesome podcast. The format is as follows: He begins with some a general exchange with family or friends, often off topic and often goofy but always entertaining, especially if you have a teenager. Then he walks out the door for his long run. He offers a brief commentary on the state of his tomatos in the garden, weather, chores, general rambling thoughts (honestly, he speaks the same sorts of things I think about my way out the door for my own run.) The he begins his run, talking about the podcasts main subjet -- racing, training, fueling, people, injuries, gadgets, a whole plethora of topics. There's a song of interest in the mix somewhere and finally we hear running/race notes from fellow listeners around the world. Then he's home again walking through his squeaky door. He includes enough variety that the podcast never gets old. Human, entertaining, creative, interesting, educational. I download old "issues" so I always have one to listen to on each of my runs. If you like to run, fast or slow, race or not, young or old, you will find something for you in this wonderfully produced podcast. Run long and taper. Oh, and I almost forgot - GO YANKEES!

A great listen, covering physical, mental, and historical aspects of distance running. Steve is clearly in touch with whatever it is that motivates endurance runners, and does a very good job of communicating it. Contrary to his frequent self-deprecating comments (give yourself some credit,...Read full review »

Great "goofy" podcast to listen to on long runs. Steve puts a lot of work into each show and it shows. Love having it as a running partner each weekend. His middle of the pack perspective is really easy to relate to. Really, really enjoyable.
