85. "Gone Girl" Gone Wrong - Did Sherry Papini Fake Her Own Kidnapping?
Description
Sherri Papini went for a run on November 2nd, 2016. When her husband, Keith, returned home around 5 PM he immediately grew concerned when their 2 and 4-year-old had not been picked up from daycare. He used Find My iPhone and found Sherri’s phone on the side of the road…but no Sherri.
He reported her missing to the police, kicking off a massive manhunt. Sherri was nowhere to be found. Three long weeks went by when Sherri was found by a motorist badly injured, wrapped in chains, and with a brand burned into her skin. Sherri claimed to have been kidnapped by two Hispanic women, but the more investigators asked the more her story began to unravel.
