Good show but I’m suspicious
The episodes on semaglutide etc were so blindly positive that I started to think the host and / or his guests were being “incentivised” for their positivity. I recently read about the millions of dollars Novo Nordisk (maker of wegovy, ozempic) had put into influencing experts in the field and I immediately thought of this podcasts coverage. Most likely a coincidence but worth noting

As an education professional, I was enjoying listening to this podcast until a second episode about youth in schools was addressed without any education or policy experts to weigh in. Because the right experts were not in the room, some key insights were missed.

I’ve followed Derek’s work in the Atlantic for years and he’s always insightful breaking down the news. The podcast is even better — I learn a lot and have fun listening.

Occasionally has good discussion, but I think I have to unsubscribe after Thompson recited his 876th metaphor back to the guest - it’s just getting comically bad.
