Not as advertised
I gave the podcast a fighting chance. I got about ten episodes in, and then listened to a few select other episodes and it wasn’t as advertised. This is not a good choice if you already have a solid handle on houseplants. There are multiple times where Rachel has an opportunity to go deep into the “why’s” of certain horticultural or botany explanations and she doesn’t. Understanding those concepts is important and WHY I’m seeking out a houseplant podcast. Plus, poor Rachel is always interrupted by Sam with the most asinine comments that derail the conversation and her train of thought because he thinks he’s funny. It’s not. I love puns. ADORE them. But his “dad jokes” are not good. Or relevant. I recommend the OH HAPPY PLANTS podcast if you want a podcast to nerd out on plants and learn with. When the host of that podcast doesn’t know enough on a topic she’ll actually pause the recording and go clarify/look it up in scholarly articles and come back to record.
