“I’ve listened to this podcast pretty much since week 1, so that in itself tells you it’s decent and worthwhile listening to. Quite often though I needed a break from it as I find the ‘banter’ at the start nauseating. Two key tenants of content marketing are ‘know your audience’ and ‘don’t talk about yourself’ - but you wouldn’t know this if you just listened to the podcast.
This has an international audience but talks a lot about American Football, which no one outside of the US gives a toss about, and generally a lot of other things that no one outside of the US will be interested in.
Also, I listen to this because of the content marketing insights, not because of Robert and Joe. I don’t care what they’ve been doing, where they are, what books they’re writing etc. The amount of time they spend bigging themselves and their products up is sometimes painful.”
