“I could partially enjoy the episodes covering P&P (the book), simply because it’s fun to hear someone experience the novel for the very first time. Some episodes were tough to bear, with the hosts knowing little to nothing about Austen or the time period, and often aren’t sure what time period the book is taking place in. Their comments really present no new or interesting insights into the work.
I thought that the episodes covering the 90’s screen adaptation of P&P would be easier to stomach, but they’re somehow even worse. I’m finally bailing.
If you like podcasts that are backed by no preliminary background research, and think that repeated shouts of “THE PATRIARCHY!!!” signal intelligence, then this one is for you.”
