That came after the lengthy pursuit of Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi was finally abandoned on deadline day. The club did sign a player from Palace, though, with Becky Langley bringing in Isabella Sibley from the WSL outfit before their first game of the new Women's Championship season.
