On a good episode, there’s about 15 minutes of content...
…the rest is Dan talking about how great another one of his shows is, reminiscing about how great one of his shows was in the past, or promoting a service 5by5 is offering or may offer in the future. It seems that as they grew in length the episodes shrank in actual amount of useful information they contain. Episode 10, for example, took 22 minutes to actually get to something approaching content. And what information there is seems to be too technical and awkwardly explained for beginners and too specific to be useful for those who might be able to understand it. I listened to the first 10 podcasts hoping it would hit its stride but felt it never really did. I started listening as I was starting a podcast of my own but finally came to realize I wasn’t getting enough useful information to justify the time spent listening to someone talk about themselves. Some might find the podcast useful, but I came to find it grating and so unsubscribed.
