“I enjoy this podcast, I’m not anywhere near as informed as I should be on topics related to finance and economics and I’m using this as a good source for topics and theories that I can explore in more detail.
I don’t know the first thing about interviewing people or producing a podcast, but I do have a few thoughts on how to improve.
1. The personal/sports questions and other small talk are great for quickly humanizing the guest, but they really disrupt the flow (for me) when they are put into the middle of the interview. Relegating them to the opening and closing of the podcast might help.
2. I know you received some comments about your Mnuchin interview and I’ll just add that as a less informed listener it is hard for me to know when I’m being lied to. I kind of just hear one person say something with conviction... and then in your next interview the opposite viewpoint is expressed by someone else with just as much confidence. It would be very helpful if you could provide some context and an idea of what is generally agreed upon in academic/professional circles from time to time.
3. Please remove the whistle sound effect, that was a rough contrast to an otherwise very pleasant show.
Obviously take everything I say with a grain of salt and keep up the good work! :)”
