Description
In this episode of PopFoodie Radio I meet with Henrietta Lovell, also known as the Rare Tea Lady. I first met Henrietta in London 10 years ago, and that meeting fundamentally changed my tea game – I am pretty sure this episode will do the same for you so tune in! In this episode, we talk about toxins, unexpected tea pairings, and what led Henrietta to leave the world of finance to dedicate her life to creating the world's best tea. Henrietta Lovell made a drastic career change when she left corporate finance and founded the Rare Tea Company 20 years ago. Today, she is known around the globe as The Rare Tea Lady. With her award-winning brand, she has revolutionized the tea world and now collaborates with renowned chefs and sommeliers to pair tea with food at some of the world's top restaurants. Henrietta has developed custom tea blends for Noma in Copenhagen, Momofuku in New York, and Claridge's in the UK and her teas are now available worldwide. Henrietta is based in Mexico where she lives with her husband, Richard Hart, the founder of Hart Bageri, and travels the world to work with small, independent tea gardens, from the Shire Highlands of Malawi to the foothills of the Himalayas. By sourcing tea directly from the farms, she can secure unique harvests and ensure they are grown using sustainable methods that benefit the land and the people.Subscribe to PopFoodie Letter at popfoodie.substack.com This is a public episode.
