“Finally! This is what I’ve been looking for, a tool to help not only learn European Portugese phrases & vocabulary but most importantly to learn to HEAR it the way it’s really spoken, which in Portugal is crucial!!
We’ve spent a lot of time in Portugal over the past year, taken private courses, use Quizlet, and have tried every CD course I could find and I still could not get this language into my ears in real world time. And I’ve always been kind of ‘good’ with languages, at least conversationally.
I enjoy these podcasts as well as the clever videos on their website of ordinary scenarios, to learn to hear European Portugese the way it’s really spoken by real people in each situation (not just TV announcers!) Then they’re replayed, broken down sentence by sentence, both written and spoken slowly, the second time using an announcer’s perfect pronunciation (which is then helpful). Most learning programs err by ONLY using a perfect announcer’s pronunciation, which believe me will not help at all in Portugal!! Not even when watching the news! 😉”
