Best in show.
This podcast is absolutely fascinating. The topics are beautifully and thoughtfully curated, they are so well researched, so well written, well narrated and the interviews with well chosen people who are actually incredibly interesting and speak well. The sound quality is great. Power Corrupts has replaced Real Dictators as my favourite podcast. What sets Brian Klaas apart from other similar podcasts is the quality of the writing, storytelling and research. The depth and breadth of his knowledge is impressive and he is able to draw connections between disparate, academic silos, bring them together with varied personal stories and experiences and weaves a compelling, well supported, and educative narrative. I bought his book and couldn’t put it down. He asks questions I have always wondered about and his book made me think. I hope he does a follow-up on the geopolitics of nuclear weapons given the situation with Russia. Kudos Brian Klaas! Write another book too. Cheers!

This is trash. I thought this podcast was about actual conspiracy theories but it’s just another liberal bashing the president.

If someone has 15 to 20 thousand dollars US to pay to be smuggled to another country then you can’t reasonably say they’re escaping poverty. Smuggling people is a cash up front business. Other than that was a very interesting show.

The episode "Conspiracy Theories" is just more propaganda to push the "Russiagate" conspiracy theory, which isn’t a theory at all but a fraud. I would hate to suggest Mr. Klaas is complicit in a fraud, so he must be an unfortunate true believer.Read full review »
