Emphasis on the “Practical”
As a young person in the 1980s, stoicism meant putting up with great pain and discomfort without complaining. The word had been separated from the philosophy, in much the same way that modernism was a style of design rather than a philosophy. Knowing the roots of things was too time-consuming. One had just enough information to know that the New Yorker cartoon was funny, but not enough to know why. I have been enjoying the pod’s brevity, focus, clarity, and above all, its practicality. I am now primed to read the original texts with a modicum of insight.

More reviews of Practical Stoicism
I’ve only recently started learning more about Stoicism, and I’ve found this podcast to be extremely useful and helpful. And the way Tanner articulates the mediations, is easy to understand. Keep up the good work Tanner, 5 ⭐️

The only thing more inane and grating than ads is “talking about ads. “ Just take care of your personal business outside the program and do the show if you wish, please.
