It has its place.
I’ve listened to this podcast since the very beginning. You expect a first time podcast to have glitches and inconsistencies. And PBP was no exception. In the beginning, Eric places the blame for abuse within churches on “bad theology” which never made sense. Poor polity, yes. Demagoguery, yes. Poor theology didn’t fit. He eventually backed off that drumbeat. There was and, sometimes, still is a somewhat juvenile aspect to his approach. What is being presented is very important even thought at times it feels like he is trying to place an angle on something that stands on its own. The exposure of abuse is to be applauded. I hate it for Eric that he is making decisions personally based on the actions of others. But he is young. And he seems to be finding his own way while exposing abuse. But reactionary isn’t a way to view the eternal.

So grateful for this podcast and the platform it gives people to find their voice. Especially that it’s been a safe space for victims of many kinds of abuse to speak out.

This is a great podcast for anyone who has a tangential relationship to the IFB movement or even just has an interest. Highly recommend!
