“Honestly, a few months ago when my older brother introduced me to this podcast, I was triggered and disinterested in anything with name of the IFB movement. The IFB was the only religious institution that I knew starting at conception and the church’s culture was the way my parents raised myself and four siblings. I left the IFB around my mid-twenties and it was one of the hardest things I had ever done, but one of the best things.
A lot of what is discussed in this podcast is heartbreaking and was not aware of the extend of how others were affected, abused, assault under the organization’s eyes of IFB. Yes, this happens everyday, every organization - but why I listen to this podcast— is these guests’ stories must be heard.
These guest are sharing their past stories with the public and if you know much about the IFB, being open and honest where you are is incredibly difficult because, humans talk and always will talk oh yes and humans judge and compare.
Until recently, I didn’t know anyone’s story until lately, when a friend shared hers. It was sad, frustrating as hell, and heroic. She is heroic!
Thank you guests for sharing your stories. You are strong, kind, worthy, and deserve unconditional love. You can give kindness and unconditional love to others - but the best is that you can choose!! So proud of you all!
Thank you Eric for putting so much into each episode. You work is much needed. Take care of yourself.”
