Ephesians chapter 6:1-3 says that we should honor our parents. This is a very famous verse amongst parents, am I right? However, many skip past verse 4 where it says parents should not provoke their children and bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. What does that mean? It means to bring your child up with the loving kindness and authority of the Lord. Many of us received no such thing. In any case, don’t let what you missed out on hinder you from all that you can receive and give. Give grace, the same grace our Creator gives us, on your journey. You will reach a level where you stop blaming and begin to understand when you heal those wounds.
