Horrible vocal fry in many episodes
Added 5/23/20: The written summary for the episode about prisons reads, “70 percent of inmates have tested positive for the coronavirus” and the reporter said the same thing. Wrong! The correct fact is 70 percent of inmates WHO HAVE BEEN TESTED were positive for coronavirus. Big mistake for a science podcast. I discovered this podcast via an ad on another podcast about Prognosis Daily’s Covid-19 coverage. I enjoy keeping up with the latest knowledge about the virus, but I cannot listen to the episodes with Kristen V. Brown because her vocal fry is so distracting - I can’t concentrate on the content because the delivery is so horrible. Her scratchy voice sounds like she has a terrible sore throat and can barely croak out her words. I will now check the show notes to see who the reporter is before I download an episode! When I find a podcast I like, I go back to the beginning to listen to all of the episodes, but the reporter in the early episodes has awful vocal fry, too, so I gave up. When your job is public speaking, you should have a voice that is pleasant to listen to, and if your natural voice isn’t, you can take classes to learn how to speak properly!

More reviews of Prognosis: Losing it
A very interesting examination of modern medicine. Well researched, well presented and surprisingly informative for episodes of such a reasonable length.

The second season is impossible to listen to. It seems like the vocal fry has somehow gotten...Read full review »
