“Hey Nick,
Idea for the podcast:
I am a new, one year into it hunter, who got into it like you did. Bought a bird dog and decided to hunt (then bought another) I am struggling with basically how to do it (not the nuts and bolts of dog training etc. just the struggles of no wild birds) This is do to the fact that there is very little public land to hunt. I mostly hunt preserve. Been on some WMA where deer hunters have seen birds, but no active quail programs really taking hold in Tidewater VA. Deer season in VA let until January, so all during that, there is no way I am going into the woods. Too many crazy people in camo shooting at anything that moves, not to mention half of them use dogs down here.
I have listened to your pod cast about planning trips etc. no way. Not my life right now! I would love to here from someone who made it (or hasn’t and is doing better than me) Like literally works, family and hunts. Has some good dogs and had a plan. I am considering to blog my struggles, but anything I say comes out as a whining basic white dude that can’t take his 4 grand worth of dogs to kill helpless birds! LOL!
Short of moving (no way, I have a great job and my wife’s family roots go back to civil war if not revolutionary war) I am blessed, trust me I know. I just have a strong desire to let my dogs do what they love to do!”
