A compelling listen
Exceptional and incredibly well made. 12/10 recommend Some reviews criticized Mike for being one sided and however that is far from reality. It is true he pushes back harder on the Palestinian narrative but he still clearly represents their perspective and is empathic with how it functions in the overall conflict. He doesn’t “accept Israel’s narrative at face value,” sure he could be more direct about Israel’s responsibility and critical of oppressive behavior. But he interviews actual soldiers, survivors, first responders, and scholars to build a picture of their experiences and motivations. Overall the listener is exposed to some of the complex history, politics, and violence of the conflict and the 7th and will hopefully walk away with fuller understanding.

More reviews of Promised Land
I enjoy listening to each one of these episodes, the content grips me. The reporting defies the common narratives that we hear in the main media outlets, much more in depth and seems to me to be even handed to both sides. And, the Sandra McCracken title song is amazing, how do I find it elsewhere?

Mike did a great job being fair on “Mars Hill,” but he is unfair here. He accepts what Israeli government officials say without question.
