Terrible
Just terrible. Was directed to this by Blacker and Acker at TAH. Thought it would be smart, funny and well done. What it is is sloppy and juvenile. It sounds like they picked up a book and instead of looking up anything that doesn’t make sense (bergomeister means mayor) they just read it out loud and made fun of anything they didn’t understand (kirchwasser is cherry water, it’s a regional drink). Three people mocking something they haven’t got the background to read in a way that will demonstrate comprehension of the story is a waste of time for all of us. Not funny, not smart, not well done.

More reviews of Public Domain Theater with Kelly Nugent and Lindsay Katai
This show is delightful! Listening to our two hosts get skeeved out by bad plots and stupid twists and then egg each other on never gets old. Except when they make the awful Sherlock Holmes voice. Then it’s agonizing to listen to. Still highly recommend the podcast as a whole.

This show is incredible, they have a great dynamic, unique premise, and hilarious commentary.

Every podcast Kelly and Lindsay host is enjoyable and this is no exception. Smart eviscerating commentary combined with sometimes actually decent public domain works make each episode a witty treat for the ears.
