NEWS HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK:
Clayne Crawford has been fired from "Lethal Weapon." Fox has canceled "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Last Man on Earth." Netflix has ordered six more episodes of "Somebody Feed Phil." The new episodes find Phil in Venice, Dublin, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen, Capetown and New York. All episodes will premiere globally on July 6. Adult Swim has ordered SEVENTY MORE EPISODES OF "RICK AND MORTY." James Wan is executive producing a "Swamp Thing" TV series for DC's new streaming service, called DC Universe. It will premiere sometime in 2019. Martin Scorsese will direct an "SCTV" reunion special for Netflix, which will feature Rick Moranis, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short and Dave Thomas Most importantly, Lifetime has greenlit an R. Kelly docu-series and a feature-length movie "aiming to tell the stories of women who have fallen under the toxic spell of the controversial R&B singer, whose alleged abuse of underage black women was detailed in a blockbuster exposé in BuzzFeed last year by music journalist Jim DeRogatis."
