“Everything happening on this pod is awesome.
One thing that has to be discussed and focus on is Nick’s point of view during the pods. What I mean is he often has amazing insights and a pastoral/authoritative tone, which serves the audience well. But he misses, almost every episode, the important moments he could use “I” and “me” language instead of “we” and “us”.
In recovery groups, especially in PD groups like I’ve been leading for >4yrs, that sort of posture/tone is generally suspicious.
Maybe it’s an auto-pilot thing or maybe it’s on purpose, but occasionally the asymmetry of the guests vulnerability to Nicks is significant.”
