the podcast i didn’t know i needed
Listened to the first two episodes on my commute today and it brought me such joy! So far the moonlight episode is my favourite as you guys summed up everything i love about it. I had never really thought about the water imagery and all the themes it ‘flows’ through. *Spoiler* i didn’t mind too much that they didn’t kiss. I think it added to the bittersweet-ness of their relationship and it didn’t take away from the main themes of the film - which to me was mainly identity (sexuality, masculinity and blackness). A kiss may have taken away from that focus and provide a sort of closure, which i don’t think fits in with the narrative, as the main character is only just beginning to be in touch with himself. Anyway keep up the amazing work and i can’t wait to hear more episodes !!

More reviews of Queer Movie Podcast
Only a couple episodes in and I’m already completely confident in my assessment that this is a truly fantastic podcast! Very informative and funny, it sheds light on media that so often gets overlooked. So refreshing, and thoroughly entertaining! Can’t wait for more from these two <3

This podcast is not only super gay and super entertaining but it has really good analysis and film criticism. I even found podcasts for movies I hadn’t watched entertaining.

You don’t have to be queer to enjoy it, but if you are, you will feel happier about the direction of lgbt cinema after listening to...Read full review »
