“I have mixed feelings about ¿Quién Tú Eres? by Pabel Martinez. The reason why is that I noticed a pattern. The pattern is that most of his Afro-Latino guests are lighter-skinned and mixed-race. How will they relate to my experience as a dark skin Afro-Latino with two Black parents? Also, most of them (including the host) love to separate their Black and Latino heritages (keep in mind, being Afro-Latino is supposed to be together, not separated). Or worse, not identify as a Black Latino (Afro-Latino or mixed with Black Latino). I know it’s their experiences, but not all of us have the “luxury” of just being Latino because it’s a culture, not a race. All I am saying is to diversify your guests to hear new things from the business world of Hispanics/Latinos, their personal stories, their side jobs, or all three suggestions. I do appreciate the direction you’re going, but there is more you can do. Look on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube to reach out to Afro-Latino content creators (for example) to start. There are literal hashtags to use online to reach people, like the ones you use on Instagram. Use them, Mr. Martinez. P.S. - I listened to 6 - 8 of your Afro-Latino (mestizo or mixed with Black Latinos) episodes, so I know what I am saying.”
