“From the first episode, I was hooked. Susan Cain’s gentle, yet persuasive command of this topic is so helpful. As you might have guessed, I am an introvert. As the only introvert in a family of extroverts, I always had to explain myself... why did I love to listen to music alone in my room? Why did I spend so much time writing in my diary? Why was I the only member of my family not putting in their two cents at dinner? Yes, I was criticized regularly for being different.
As Susan rightly states, there’s nothing wrong with us... in fact, our sensitivity and our ability to observe and analyze make us valuable members of society. We are successful because of our introversion, not despite it. Thank you, Susan, for allowing introverts like me to be - and accept - ourselves. Now if I could only get all those talkers in the family to listen to your podcast. (They seem to never stop talking long enough to listen... <sigh>...)”
