“I began taking a serious interest in personal finance about 3-4 years ago. After a while, you hear the same “safe & common sense” ideas for the early retirement seeker repeated across the majority of podcasts and blogs. Joshua adds so much more to the conversation and finds unique ways to approach old problems - reducing taxes, ways to work out your personal insurance needs, managing utilities costs, guest discussions on different types of investment (dividends, real estate etc), the process of setting your personal annual financial goals…
He also interviews people who have successfully taken a wide variety of fascinating approaches to personal finance/development, such as getting a cheap secondary education, survivalism as a method of financial planning, extreme early retirement or living in a “tiny home.” He takes listeners’ personal questions every Friday (mostly), and covers many angles to ensure you are informed about the issues affecting your personal situation - or the list of questions you need to ask to get informed.
Joshua has got a great presentation style. You can hear friendly and genuine interest in his voice as he addresses his audience and guests. His heart is IN it. Some podcast hosts really struggle with this. Joshua has a natural knack for it.
This is, without question, my favourite personal finance podcast.”
