Hey all. Hope I didn't depress you all with the last Friday episode I posted. Plus, last Friday I played hookie and you didn't get one, so this one I'm posting just a little earlier to make up for that. This time I go on about how tourism, at least in historic European cities, can be improved upon. Just listen and you'll understand where I'm coming from. The transcript I've put up on a new (and really rough, but give me time!) blog. You can read it on you're listening to radio...

Hey all. First, want to apologize for not getting the Friday podcast up last week. Kind of a busy week, what with the day job coming out of quarantine, an interview for another podcast (I'll let you all know about that one, it was good fun!) and the vegetable garden.... I have a theme, but it'll have to wait until this Friday. This is a Cafetalk prompt post, so I didn't think of it but was able to run with it. Hope you enjoy, it's a piece from my own past again, ah that good old Midwester...

Hey all. Not in the best of moods today, been back at the day job for a week, not liking what I'm seeing out there in the post-quarantine world. Yet I seem to have to go out there despite my reservations. Today some sad reflections on the filter I've been using to protect myself, and it's not the mask! peace, revel.

Hey listeners! This week, instead of replying directly to the prompt at Cafetalk, I decided to pull out this old story, written at least three decades ago, and share it with you all. The weekly theme was something about my favorite musical instrument, and that turned out to be like asking me my favorite color or my favorite type of music or my favorite novel. I'm not too good at answering that "your favorite" question, must be social disadjustment on my part.... Anyway, for those of you who...

Hey all! A Good News Friday episode today. Monuments to out-of-date, past best-used-by dates are being "targeted" in the current efforts to clean up American attitudes towards discrimination and brutality. Governmental inefficiency aside, I take a quick look at how taking down statues to heros of another era helps in the evolution of creating heroes in today's climate of unrest, sadness and anger. You can read the transcript to this episode over at Cafetalk. peace, revel.

Hey all! This week's Cafetalk theme was "Memories about Dialects", which reminded me of how my experience with seeing "The Devil's Advocate" changed from originally seeing it dubbed into Spanish to seeing it with the original actors' vocal interpretation of their characters. You can read the transcript of this episode over at Cafetalk. peace, revel.

Hey all! This week the Cafetalk theme was "What is your life philosophy?", to which I replied with my mother's refrain: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" You can see the transcript for this Monday episode at Cafetalk. peace, revel.

Hey all! Friday again, and here's the episode that now marks a sub-sub-group. That is, "Good news Friday" --> "It can be done" --> "Educating at arm's length". While not necessarily good news, this Friday's episode is certainly a "It can be done". It is about our "new normal" of how we are going to educate our children without sending them to school, a topic that's near and dear to me and that would take, will take several episodes to cover. That's why it's become a sub-sub-group. As...

Hey all! Monday means a prompted blog posting from Cafetalk. This week's prompt was something like "If your pet could speak to you, what would it say?" My offering is "My dog does talk!" I talk about realizing how animals and humans communicate on an emotional level, even if we are not always sure what the other is really saying. Hope you enjoy. You can find the transcript for this episode here. cheers, revel.

Hey again. Busy week this week and this Friday's episode is a little late in getting on line, but better than never! I don't know about all of you, but I've been noticing a lot of things happening that have not happened before. A lot of them are not at all very nice, but there are some things going on in the world, both locally and nationally and internationally that only a couple of months ago I would have thought impossible. This week's episode, called "It can be done" (you can read the...

Hey all! Welcome to the first episode of Good News Friday on radio revel. In this episode I mainly introduce you all to what I want to do with sharing good news, first talking about what good and bad and just plain old news is, then commenting on a Youtube channel that concentrates, in its own way, on sharing the good news that’s out there in contrast to all that other stuff we call “news”. That Youtuber is the actor John Krasinski. I’ve only good vibes from this actor, all the way back...
