“Unfortunately this podcast has host who aren’t comedians acting their darnedest to be funny, and it’s fails dramatically. Worse it’s obvious their producer has also told them to act overly enthusiastic, but that’s an epic fail too, because it feels very false. It’s so bad it’s annoying If the hosts calm down and behave like normal people would to interesting content then I’d give the podcast a 5 star. But at this stage I can’t because it is ruined by the hosts constantly jumping in on each other with their hyped up fakeness. One made a loud sheep “bhaaaa” noise because another host was taking about the taxpayer being fleeced financially. That’s child’s humour. A 5 year old may laugh at that. But the subject was serious. Which brings me to the issue that the volume of the hosts when they act overly excited is too loud compared to the the other audio parts. Moral of the story is don’t hire unfunny people to act funny, when they aren’t naturally funny in the first place. Because all you end up with is two annoying adults acting like children while we the listener are trying concentrate on the important content. I’m young and It’s like the producers have incorrectly thought hey we need a younger audience, so let’s young it down! but failed spectacularly. The writers and researchers, you get a 5 star. I feel for you having your work ruined by the producers and hosts
Ah I just remembered another thing is the hosts are patronising the guests (and the listeners). The hosts interview the guests who start telling a story of how something happened, but then in post production the hosts voice hijacks the story rewords it and voices it him or herself. What utter condescending arrogance to do that to a guest because you think your more slick with your version of their story. And just as bad is the stop start editing back and forth between the guest uttering a few words and the host stealing the majority of the guest’s words. That’s appalling journalism.”
