Both northwest counties border O'Brien County, where Iowa's first dairy cattle influenza case was reported June 6. At the time, Iowa was the 10th state to confirm HPAI in dairy cows. The nationwide outbreak of the avian virus in dairy has struck nearly 100 herds across 12 states.
