“Just found your podcast and listened to the episode about “Skip the Dishes”. The world is changed forever, however, delivery service in the past was available back in the late 50’s, 60’s and 70’s provided by the stores themselves. They soon found that it was not financially stable. I don’t like the exploitation of workers in this new tech delivery service. When looking or investigating a topic you need to look at both sides. Consumer complaints about food orders are in the rise and the quality of the food has diminished. I have seen drivers that have upwards to 10 orders in their car in paper bags, nothing to keep the order warm and fresh “no hot bags”. I hate to be order # 10 in that car. I think a podcast looking at the dark side of the industry is called for. The lack of benefits for delivery staff, the fee per order that they receive, the issue with insurance on vehicles, or lack of proper insurance. What happens when delivery agents try to unionize. Look at the whole picture! Or do we just talk about how big companies exploit restaurants and the companies own delivery staff?”
