A great show, but...
Update 7-7-19: apparently I hit a nerve because woody keeps referencing my review, but has never mentioned anything about the other negative reviews(which I mostly don’t agree with, btw!). The 4th of July ep is a case in point. There is nothing wrong with shout outs and appreciation and such but 20 minutes?! Every podcast I listen has their methods of thanking fans and helping other casts. Never has a single one spent anywhere near as much time as this one. It does not make you unique and wonderful. It’s just ridiculous. I imagine most people are like me and skip past it all at this point. So, once again, I like woody and the stories he tells. Just expect a lot of fluff to go with it. Old review: The host is way too obsessed with his downloads, and how popular the show is getting. Supposedly it’s breaking records but I question that claim big time. Some episodes are far shorter than you think because he spends 15 minutes yapping about the show itself instead of the case! It ridiculous. Woody, more focus on the cases and less on you or the shows growing success.

More reviews of Real Life Real Crime
This is a very good podcast if you are are interested in true crime and law enforcement. Woody does a great job telling the stories of cases he actually worked, which gives an insider perspective. Highly recommended!

Simply the best...IMO! I have listened to most all of the True Crime podcasts & have great respect for each of them. However, Woody’s ability to relate each of his (he actually worked each of episode) Real Life cases in such an accurate, clear, concise, sometimes funny, & brutally honest...Read full review »

Retired Louisiana police officer with a great voice tells stories of cases he worked. Not just another retelling of the same old same olds. Lots of info about investigative details, so it's a fascinating inside look, and quick and humane sketches of the people involved, so it feels true and...Read full review »
