Unsubscribing. Was very into this podcast until Overkill part two. This cop does not have a psychiatrist degree nor is he an “expert” on personality disorders or addiction. The woman in this case also was a survivor of gruesome sexual assault. He made light that he mentioned her cat being injured from the man who assaulted her. I am by no means defending her actions, but making inferences that someone who a history of mental illness and trauma is “sane” isn’t fair or respectful. It’s another reason why cops and detectives need more education than just a criminal justice associate degree or bachelors. Makes me sick to hear how he spoke of this.

Listening to this first episode made me super uncomfortable but in the best way. I find I am most drawn to cases that make me uncomfortable. Looking forward to following along, shaking my head in disbelief along the way.
