“At the beginning of 2022 I was searching for some way to enrich my walk with Christ. I was convicted about my media intake; fasting from social media, and deleting my streaming accounts because I felt my heart was more inclined towards entertainment than God. I feared media had become my idol. As with all resolutions, my media fast lasted about three weeks before boredom settled in, so I restructured my resolution and decided to search out entertainment that was fun, thought-provoking, and most importantly, Christ-centered. I began by searching on Spotify for Christian podcasts. Man, are there A LOT of podcasts out there that claim Christ! It was confusing as to where to start so I began researching the podcast hosts to see if their theology was compatible with my reformed background. When I stumbled upon the RTC site, I was thrilled to see a clear mission statement, personal testimonies, and tabs that led listeners to follow Christ (yay, evangelism!). I jumped in on episode one and listened all the way through to the present. What kept me listening was the humble beginnings of Fuller & Marc’s podcast ministry. They were honest about their struggles and their daily need for God. Marc’s journey through divorce and his crisis with identity was raw and sincere. Fuller’s open and tearful confession about pride pierced my own heart. I feel as though I’m journeying through my Christian walk with true friends even though I’m a voiceless listener in the void of the Spotify universe. My husband loves that I’m not consumed in what he calls “junk” entertainment and refers to Fuller & Marc as “my guys,” saying things like, “what did your guys say about the second amendment?” or apologizing while I’m listening by declaring, “oops! I didn’t realize you were listening to your guys.” Thank you, Marc & Fuller for faithfully serving God & your community through this podcast. It has blessed me deeply. I’m happy to call you “my guys.””
