“I must admit three things. One. I heard about this podcast through Mike's "Idea Channel" series and felt "socially obliged" to at least give it a try, even when he specifically warned us that this was a podcast dedicated to sound, music and the hearing experience, which is something I'm not particularly interested in.
The second thing I have to admit is that I have only listened to the first episode of this series. And yet, my amazement is so complete that I propelled myself into the review section to write this the second Mike's silk-like words stopped playing through my speakers.
The third and final thing I have to admit is that I NEVER write as lengthy or as elaborately as I'm doing right now (even less so in english!). And this strange linguistic diarrea in me was entirely the consequence of the mirror neurons in my brain vibrating to Mike Rugnetta's mindblowing first episode. An episode where he delicately glides us through what I can only describe as an in-depth "apreciation" of what sound is and represents in the human condition. I feel soaked in his beautiful tale and sense as if I just went out of a philosophy course slash cult experience slash fainting-groupie being taken behind stage after the concert.
I must stop now before I start getting back into my senses and realizing how much I'm geeking out for this. I'll conclude with the statement that even if this podcast takes a wrong turn in the future or never reaches back the Elysium-like dreaminess I just experienced; that first episode alone will be something which I'll share the hell out as everybody should listen to it.
Retiring now to binge-hear the next episode and hoping that the spell Mr. Rugnetta has cast on me doesn't wears of, or worse, increases.”
