Disappointed
I’m really sad about this as I had loved this podcast and recommend it to so many. I had wondered why H&S had kept so silent about what is going on in G@z@ atm and learnt that they had addressed it in a Patreon episode back in January which I signed up to listen to. For somebody who I thought was so worldly and switched on, I am so disappointed in Suruthi’s attitude of ‘what do Palestinians expect’ in flippant disregard of the ongoing genocide that is going on, however mentions of her disliking Mehdi Hassan and both H&S referring to a younger Netanyahu as ‘hot’ in older episodes should have been red flags that perhaps they’re not as switched on when it comes to P@lestine. This feels particularly uneasy when they have released episodes in the past month detailing how awful it was for UK police to be spying on protestors (and made reference to Apartheid South Africa protests and rightly made reference to Britain’s involvement in apartheid) and the last episode on Mahsa Amini where Islamophobia is defined as a way to silence critics of the Iranian govt, which is much what the Israeli govt do, and also singling out Ilham Omar for her views on a dissident, when Omar is one of the few voices in the US govt speaking our against the genocide. It feels completely lost on them and I just can’t listen to it with the same enjoyment anymore, especially when H&S in the past have painted themselves as not fearing to talk about the truth.

I'm really enjoying this one quite a bit. The hosts are excellent- they're very engaging and not overly scripted. The cases selected are intriguing and the episodes move along at a nice pace. Adding Red Handed to my regular rotation of podcasts is a no-brainer.Read full review »
