“I’ve been listening to ReelBlend for a while and I’m really enjoying this podcast. It’s a lot of fun to listen to the guys shmooze about the latest news in the industry, talk about upcoming and past awards, review my favorite movies and those I haven’t seen or liked, and inform me about works I hadn’t heard of. The vibe is fun, positive and respectful, no matter their opinions of the people and works they encounter or their disagreement with each other. In fact, they get along so well that their passionate arguments make me laugh hardest.
Passion is perhaps THE reason this podcast is so great. The guys love what they do and have strong opinions about movies and other industry happenings. All their critique and praise of films and people is interesting and entertaining. And it’s fascinating to hear about their experiences talking with the people on the creative side of movies.
The 50th episode incited me to write this extended review because I had such a good time listening. This was especially because they had a great guest on the show, which added a perfect touch, and because they used so many puns in the Ryan Gosling blend that I couldn’t breathe from laughter. And that’s my last point - the guys do a Blend game, in which they discuss their favorite works from a specific actor or director, as announced on the previous episode. They also include some responses from social media. It’s a great way to get a feel for different genres and filmmaking styles and to hear about works I may not have come across (yet).
ReelBlend folks - keep it up! I hope none of you quit first or last but keep on going.
And anyone else still reading down here, check out this pod for yourself. If you enjoy movies (who doesn’t?) then you’ll love ReelBlend.
I know I’m supposed to end with “Dunkirk!” but I don’t know why because I haven’t yet watched the movie.
